I wasn't sure if it was from the Waltons or Little House etc - I just remember the phrase 'Goodnight Jon Boy' and couldn't resist slipping that ending sequence in.
Rescue work is often not very amusing so we seek our humour where we can.

We are always open to volunteers coming to help us. Yes, it is lovely. Off the beaten track, quiet, rura; and with a wealth of wildlife and birdlife.
All volunteers welcome!

We see a fair few blind and deaf BC's through our care. I haven't yet seen one that was suffering because it was blind or deaf.
Suffering because it had insensitive and impatient owners in some cases and suffering because it was misunderstood in most cases.
Nature compensates and if one sense is affected the others are accentuated.
We have had one dog through that was born blind and deaf and had three legs after an accident. He found a new home and still thrives.

When we took Pan in she had been placed in kennels while her owner was in hospital after a heart attack. The kennel owner suggested we had her PTS because she was stir crazy in the kennels, hyper' and barking all the time. They thought she was aggressive and potentially dangerous.
We thought otherwise and here she is now, nearly 9 years later, a happy little soul. It did take a fair bit of work, but was well worth it.
Preserving life is generally worth a bit of work.

Shshh - don't tell Gael that, it'll go to her head. We will tell Dot - she can cope (she knows she's a beautiful girl anyway).

That's why we took this place on. It may cost an arm and a leg to keep running but it offers the dogs a good quality of life and plenty of freedom as well as a peaceful environment for the hyper ones to calm down and find themselves.

Very pleased that someone has bothered to put together this movie. It makes a very valid point and we totally agree that we should all view dogs with disability from the point of view of the positive aspects of their lives.
Dogs don't sentimentalise about their problems, they just get on with life and make the best of what they have got - never envious of others who may (seemingly) have more.
We are very proud of the disabled dogs that have passed through our organisation - two of which are featured in this movie - Deefor and Willow.
These two dogs are disabled because of the stupidity of humans - the people who bred them - their ignorance of genetics and their greed for easy money by breeding and selling pups.
Lets face it - the problems most animals face originate with humans - but often so does their salvation.
This is a good movie - everyone should watch it!
